Hi everyone,
Do you find it difficult to forgive someone who has
been mean to you, or to let go of the hurt you felt
inside? If your answer is “Yes”, then you’re not
alone! It is sooo hard!
Last month’s story was about Joseph, who was
sold as a slave by his jealous brothers. That must
have upset him deeply, and sometimes it is our
family members who are hardest to forgive.
This month’s story continues Joseph’s
adventures. When he was younger Joseph had
been rather foolish and boastful, but in this part of
the story we see how, through the ups and downs
of his life, Joseph learned wisdom.
He used his skills of dream interpretation to earn
an important place as Pharoah’s chief advisor.
He used practical and organisational skills and
good sense to handle the crisis of a widespread
famine.
When, finally, he met up with his brothers once more, Joseph used skills of patience and empathy to understand that they too had changed. And he was able to forgive them and be reunited with a loving family once more.
Jesus taught that we must always forgive others, and God gives us the skills, patience
and empathy to enable us to do that.
The videos on this page tell the second part of Joseph’s story, the links on the next page are about learning to forgive.
